Tre in fila - Three in a row

My descent on the bank of the Tiber a few weeks ago has been very fruitful...

The three bridges lined up are: Ponte Principe Amedeo Aosta; Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II and in the bottom there is Ponte Sant'Angelo (named after the castle on the left).

The bridge under which I took the photo, is also known more simply as Ponte Principe.

The bridge is dedicated to Prince Amedeo, Duke of Aosta, Viceroy of Ethiopia and gold medal of military valor for the heroic defence of Amba Alagi, during World War II.

It was terminated in 1942 after 34 months of works and many difficulties.

The bridge is 109,70 meters long and 20 meters wide and has 3 masonry arches.
