Nasone. |
‘Nasone’ (Big Nose). This is how we affectionately call these fountains in Rome. The ‘Nasoni’ were installed for the first time in 1874 and was initially equipped with three openings in the shape of a dragon’s head. Then the ‘Nasoni’ were equipped with a simple smooth tube (model still in use) characterized by the typical upper hole for drinking. Within the Roman walls ‘Nasoni’ are 280 (and about 2,500 throughout all the City). |
