Via Sannio – Open Air Market

The one of Via Sannio is a historical markets of Rome.
The Market, born between the 1960s and 70s, is located nearby San Giovanni, just to the side of the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano.

At first glance does not seem anything special: stalls selling cheap common clothes, shoes, bags, belts, jewelry, toys, kitchen utensils …
The market is narrow, crowded and noisy, but give us a ride is an experience to be lived!
Advancing in what seems like a maze, you get to the heart of the market.
A vast area with stalls full of second-hand clothes at very low prices.
Here take place  a real hunting to the customer. Screams coming from each bank of vendors eager to show off their jeans or whatever

To buy in via Sannio there is a rule: the asked price should be reduced by 50% and then start negotiations.
Typically the negotiation ends at 70-75% of the original price and always with a few gadgets (t-shirt, hat, bandana) for free.
No joke, and the guys at Rome knows well.
The jeans should be purchased without parents because young people under the pretext of the little money available, with fifty euro can buy  two pairs of jeans instead of one!

The Via Sannio Market is also famous for selling military-style articles and equipment for camping and fishing.
