Ponte Palatino – Palatino Bridge

Il Ponte nella foto è stato costruito tra il 1886 e il 1890, per sostituire definitivamente il Ponte Emilio (vedi post sul Ponte Rotto).

In quel tratto di fiume, secondo un’antica leggenda, la nobile fanciulla romana Clelia attraversò il Tevere dopo essere fuggita dal re etrusco Porsenna che l’aveva tenuta in ostaggio.

Il Ponte è lungo cira 155 metri e il pianale è in metallo.
A causa del senso di marcia invertito, a Roma è conosciuto anche come Ponte Inglese…
